San Juan Capistrano

San Juan Capistrano was originally founded in 1776 as the 7th Spanish Mission of California. San Juan Capistrano is one of the most historic of all Orange County cities. The birds are known to migrate to Argentina during the winter and then return back to San Juan Capistrano for the spring. San Juan Capistrano Regions

San Juan Capistrano is one of the oldest cities in Orange County, California.  It’s located just east of Dana Point and is home to many equestrian neighborhoods.  One of the landmarks of San Juan Capistrano is the Mission San Juan Capistrano. The city was formulated and built around the Mission and most of the historical homes built in the Spanish colonial style are found in this area called the “Mission Area.” San Juan Capistrano Real Estate varies a lot in architecture and price. 1) San Juan North has a wide range of different types of homes. Homes in Marbella Estates range from $1,000,000 to 3,000,000. The Village San Juan has townhomes beginning around $250,000. Parts of San Juan North have some of the most affordable housing in south Orange County.

2) San Juan South area is located in the southern most area of San Juan Capistrano. The area consists of midlevel to higher end homes. The area of San Juan South has some of the best ocean views of San Juan Capistrano. The community of Connemara By The Sea which sits atop rolling hills boasts some truly scenic ocean views. This area is one of the best kept secrets in real estate in San Juan Capistrano.

3) Del Obispo area of San Juan Capistrano borders Dana Point and the homes in this area have a more country feel to them with larger lots and wider streets. One of the benefits to living around Del Obispo is the short distance to the Dana Point Harbour. The street of Del Obispo was once the path traders would use to go from their ships on the Dana Point coast to the Mission of San Juan Capistrano.

4) Mission Area is the oldest area of San Juan Capistrano. This is the area founded by Franciscan missionaries in the 1700s. This is also where the famous Mission San Juan is located. The Mission area has some of the most affordable homes in south Orange County. The condo communities of Casitas De Alipaz and Capistrano Villa Apartments have 1-2 Bedrooms starting around $115,000.

5) Ortega area is located in the middle of San Juan Capistrano. Today the name Ortega is well known by motorcycle enthusiasts thanks to the Ortega Highway. This road which connects San Juan Capistrano to Lake Elsinore and Riverside county is a favorite drive for motorcycle enthusiasts. The Ortega area’s housing is very mixed. There are the multimillion dollar homes of The Hunt Club, Capistrano Estates, and Bellacere Properties. Then there are midlevel homes as well in the communities of Ridge Crest and Mesa Verde. The Ortega area is a great option for anyone that likes to be at the hub of transportation, not far from the beach or the curvy road inland.
